Education and Outreach
The CCDC and our colleagues continually produce educational materials for use in classroom and computer lab settings, or as independent study modules. Many of these materials make use of the Teaching Subset – a freely available set of over 750 structures that can be investigated with the free version of our Mercury visualization and analysis program. You can also access a series of teaching modules for use in the classroom, and teaching resources for crystallographic education.
We also create a collection of activities for kids to introduce them to the wonders of crystals. These home-friendly activities can be followed by using our simple handouts, watching accompanying videos or playing card games.
