Jada Orlebar-Earle (she/her)

Diversity, Access and Participation Officer

Jada joins the SU having recently completed an MA in Globalisation, Business and Development. Previous union roles include committee membership of BAMEsoc and Femsoc, as well as working at Falmer Bar. Priorities for the year: More support to find career opportunities and career preparation; Compulsory anti-discrimination enrolment module; Welfare training for all committee members.

Naina Bahl (they/them)

Wellbeing Officer

Naina was re-elected for their second year as the Wellbeing Officer, after having set up and been the Nightline Coordinator for two years, being a part-time officer and involved in Under the Sheets and Access Sussex campaigns. Priorities for the year: Delivering Know Your Rights training for students so students know what their rights are as a tenant, an employee, an activist and more!; Working towards a harm-reduction approach to drugs and alcohol in Brighton; Building better and comprehensive Union and University support for trans and non-binary and disabled students; Focussing on the reasonable adjustments review to ensure students are able to access the reasonable adjustments they need.

Ardi Sefre (he/him)

Sports, Societies and Events Officer

Ardi has held various SU roles, including president of the Mountaineering Society, lead actor in student productions, and organiser of numerous events; partnering with Oxfam for second hand fashion shows, hosting trail running events with HOKA and co-creating ‘BoysThatRun’ a mental health running initiative. Priorities for the year: Positive culture training for all sports teams; Develop a non-intrusive hardship fund that supports students in joining and sticking with sports and societies throughout their studies; Get students cycling, increase safe storage on campus and draw attention to biking as a cost effective, sustainable mode of transport; Develop a network of ethical sponsors to support teams in funding.

Student Living and Sustainability Officer

Anthropology student Elena has been involved in numerous SU activities, including a role as activities & events officer in the Sustainability Committee and taking a leading role in the Oxfam Society. Priorities for the year: Improve student housing and tackle the cost of living; Improve transport to campus; Create opportunities to improve student wellbeing sustainably.

Esther is a postgraduate student of Governance, Development and Public Policy, with varied experience in advocacy and development. Priorities for the year: Harmonise the international student community; Secure more commitment for funding & career support; Increase mental health and other support services.
