Announcing Anthropic’s upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet on Vertex AI

At Google Cloud, we’ve taken an open approach in building our Vertex AI platform — to provide the most powerful AI tools available along with unparalleled choice and flexibility. That’s why Vertex AI delivers access to over 160 models — including first-party, open-source, and third-party models — so you can build solutions specifically tailored to your needs.

In June, we announced the addition of Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet to Vertex AI Model Garden. Today, we’re announcing the general availability of the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet for US customers, featuring a new “computer use” capability in public beta, on Vertex AI Model Garden. This means you can use the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet to direct the model to generate computer actions — like keystrokes and mouse clicks — allowing it to interact with your user interface (UI). You can access the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet model through our Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) offering.

How to get started with the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet on Google Cloud

1. Visit Model Garden and select the Claude 3.5 Sonnet v2 model tile. You can also find and easily procure the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet on Google Cloud Marketplace and take advantage of the ability to draw down on your Google Cloud spend commitments.The upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet v2 is only available for US customers today. 

2. Select “Enable” and follow the proceeding instructions.
