::I just wanted someone with more experience with this kind of thing to look at them. I am pasting them on a lot of category pages and undoing it will be a pain. It takes so long to tax my own patience, it is probably really good that I started with such a big family, even though I made a lot of category without the templates, there were so many that I didn't get to yet. It is the same thing with my web site -- when I am writing things, the technical improvements get shoved aside because that is not where my brains are going.

I recently created {{tl|VI-add}} (see its documentation) as a helper template for autogenerating two extra parameters in {{tl|VI}}, which is used for some automated historical log categorization. The two parameters passed are sort of redundant as it is merely a different way to format the datetime of the promotion. When I implemented [[User:Slaunger/Sandbox/VI-countdown]] earlier today I got myself acquinted with <nowiki>{{#time:...}}</nowiki> and its many possibilities, and now I realize I could just pass one single extra parameter, like <nowiki>{{CURRENTTIMESTAMP}}</nowiki>, i.e., 20080522183650 as that can be used to make all the necessary internal time formatting inside {{tl|VI}}. So I was thinking of simplifying the interface between these two templates by introducing some <nowiki>{{#time:...}}</nowiki> logic in {{tl|VI}}. On the other hand the CURRENTTIMESTAMP rather user unfriendly representation as a parameter in the VI template may seem confusing for image page editors and fragile for editing (not that it should be edited by hand though). What is your opinion about this.
