I'm delighted to present Moogsi for adminship. This user hasn't been here that long (since November 2012) but in this relatively short time, he/she has shown good knowledge of copyright and our deletion policy. He is a very active user with over 14000 edits and is seen frequently in COM:DR, copyvio and no permission investigation (just check out his deleted contribution. I think he will be a good admin over these fields. He has accepted my proposal. Feel free to ask candidate some questions. Thank you for your participation. What do you mean by "other accounts"? --Túrelio (talk) 07:21, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What that means in the Wikimedia context is pretty obvious: sockpuppets. --Dereckson (talk) 09:23, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) I guess the point is that it appears as though this user may have edited under another user name in the past maybe. --Herby talk thyme 09:24, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
He has been editing en wikipedia for a while (with an break between 2007 and 2012) [1]. --PierreSelim (talk) 09:33, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just me :) Accounts with the name "Moogsi" have been my only accounts on Wikimedia projects since 2005. I did the SUL thing on the 2nd of January when I had Commons, Wiktionary and en.wiki accounts with the same name. I have never contributed in a big way to a wikimedia project before, although I have volunteered on a number of other projects (mostly transcription stuff, made books for Project Gutenberg, etc). --moogsi (blah) 09:57, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, given there may be good reason why you can't say, OR there may be bad reason why you can't say, it's not possible for me to support, but I see no problems with your work otherwise. Penyulap 10:26, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. If you read what I say on Morning Sunshine's talk page (linked in the nomination), I did think that this could be a problem. So I can't take offence if anyone doesn't trust me for whatever reason. Some people will see a ton of me, others hardly at all :) --moogsi (blah) 10:52, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I'm glad you don't take it badly, you do great work. Penyulap 11:16, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So could you strike your oppose vote as I see it is not a good reason. Moogsi is a great worker and it's just because that his/her account is recently created. You seem to accuse that he is a sockpuppet without an evidence. Anyone can use alternate accounts as long as they don't abuse them to disrupt any WMF projects--Morning (talk) 11:36, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Quite clearly I have not, and will not, accuse Moogsi of abuse, that would require firstly knowing that they have other accounts as well as examining those accounts' contributions in detail. I can no more do that than you can prove to any of us that Moogsi has no other accounts, we have to leave it up to people to decide for themselves.
As for striking my vote, you seem to misunderstand, I like Moogsi's contributions and they are good contributions. However, I am absolutely opposed to their adminship for the reason stated. Penyulap 12:07, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well seeing as this has become a Thing, allow me to humiliate myself: look at my edits from November 2012. I made 6 or 7 edits to each file trying to get the categories right, and then I make a bad job of it anyway. I only add one category at a time with HotCat because I don't even know that you can add more than one at a time. I then proceed to transfer a couple of files which I have since found do not belong here, but I left them where they are because I felt guilty about taking them from wikipedia where they were sitting quite blamelessly, and consigning them to oblivion :) You can go and vote on those here. I don't think I used any of the batch processing tools until January, when INeverCry gave me autopatrol (probably because it became clear that I would become a pain in the arse for patrollers, which I didn't even know was a thing that people did until that point). Probably about a third to half of my edits are me correcting my own dumb mistakes, but at least I do correct them. I have hopefully become a better editor since then :) --moogsi (blah) 13:06, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Lots of people value users willing to improve. I'll come back with few questions, however be sure I think you are not "shit" for this project. --PierreSelim (talk) 13:48, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
for now simply to echo PierreSelim :) --Herby talk thyme 14:09, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I simply wanted to make it clear that if I wasn't a new user in November, I was doing a very good impression of one for a while :) --moogsi (blah) 14:48, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
