    - Ah, good catch! The description says that the picture is taken from the web pages of the president and can thus be assumed to be free for use. That line of reasoning certainly doesn't establish a GFDL-license. Haukurth (talk) 11:05, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

His upload on the Icelandic Wikipedia says: "Myndin er tekin af vefsvæði forseta íslands, hún er ætluð fjölmiðlum og má því ætla að frjálst sé að nota hana í upplýsingarskyni á Wikipediu." This means: "The picture is taken from the website of the president of Iceland, it's intended for the media and so one can assume that it's free for use for informational purposes on Wikipedia."
