I honestly don't believe without further proof that this image has been taken by Flounder. I have seen it before in a natural science book (don't remember the title) and you can find it also elsewhere on the web like this cropped version here: http://www.ajb-hennings.de/wetterbilder/kugelblitz.jpg. As well AFAIK the image has been taken in Japan, but no location has been given in the description (the real photographer would tell it by himself and he'd know that information on the location of an image is as important as the image itself). Assuming good faith in this case. The user has uploaded the image to nl.wp stating it was his own work and added the image to the article on the subject. He has made no other edits. The user has not added the email functionality so cannot be contacted. I vote against delete.Siebrand 23:21, 30 June 2007 (UTC)- I did search a bit deeper for "ball lightning" in google image. Just to example hits: http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/UFOs/ufosulphur.htm (in detail: http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/images/ball-lightning.jpg) the description says "Famous photograph of ball lightning, which prompted scientists to acknowledge the phenomenon.", http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Scientific_method (in detail: http://www.biocrawler.com/encyclopedia/Image:Ball_Lightning.jpg) there you can read: "'A real photo of ball lightning taken by a student in Japan, 1987". So in this case I cannot assume good faith without some more substantial points of the uploader. Arnomane 02:02, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. Remove this, as it is copyfraud. Nice find. Cheers! Siebrand 08:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

- I may add that the SOLE contribution of that use ("Flounder") on the Dutch WpA was uploading this image there (Now deleted) and adding it, without explanation, to the articel on the subject, which is HIGHLY suspicious behavior to me, given the evidence above. 68.39.174.238 01:44, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
