Description

As I make my way from London to Los Angeles, I am treated to this sight after the inflight meal service.

I am clearing the southwest coast of Greenland on my way to Hudson Bay and the Canadian Prairies. I will enter the US in Montana, crossing into California around Bishop and shooting out over Santa Monica Bay before doing the Los Angeles landing pattern.

It is about noon local time, but due to the time of year (November) and the very northerly latitudes here, it feels more like late afternoon. In a few hours it will be pitch dark here.

Absolutely nothing but ice down there.
