Hello, I hereby draw your attention to the User:Wikitaips (Contributions) which maybe a sockpuppet of User:Srabanta Deb (Contributions) who is currently blocked for multiple account abuse. The new account is being used to upload the images of same personalities which were previously uploaded by Srabanta Deb and consequently deleted for copyright issues. Moreover, the images uploaded by Wikitaips are being added to the related articles on Bengali, English and Hindi Wikipedias through the account Srabanta Deb (Bengali, Hindi and English). The file at Adobe stock doesn't seem to have a license compatible with commons. Even the extended license doesn't allow distribution of the stand-alone file. I think it might be a good idea to discuss it in a DR request unless the copyright owner provides evidence of permission. Thanks-BRP ^ever 14:51, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Yes - just arrived at pretty much the same conclusion . It is one thing to be licensed to use a file however that is quite different to being allowed to relicense the file. How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

Hello. Uhh I'm not really used to these old-school sites, but I see that the files I have used have been marked as a possible copyright violation. I'm not entirely sure I remember where I got the teddy bear image from, but I believe I pulled the parliament one from shutterstock if I'm not mistaken. However, I'm afraid I don't understand the "law of the land" here, if you will. I'm not sure if you're still presently active on this website at the moment, but I see that you used to do image edits based on your profile? Hi, it looks like ToyitomaOda (talk · contribs) transferred images from the Flickr account of Roosevelt Skerrit, who is and has some staff photographer named CHARLES JONG. So the licensing could be correct, the file information on Wikimedia Commons (creator: Roosevelt Skerrit) however isn't. I have removed the requests for speedy deletion for now. The incorrect file info affects hundreds of transfers from this flickr account, there is even Category:Photographs_by_Roosevelt_Skerr. --Polarlys (talk) 14:15, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks. I left them a really blunt message on the EN talk page, hoping they will read it and start to get some idea of why they've been blocked here and having edits reverted / pages moved to draft over there. Parliament & Old 1960's Teddy Bear

Hello. Uhh I'm not really used to these old-school sites, but I see that the files I have used have been marked as a possible copyright violation. I'm not entirely sure I remember where I got the teddy bear image from, but I believe I pulled the parliament one from shutterstock if I'm not mistaken. However, I'm afraid I don't understand the "law of the land" here, if you will. I'm not sure if you're still presently active on this website at the moment, but I see that you used to do image edits based on your profile? Hi, it looks like ToyitomaOda (talk · contribs) transferred images from the Flickr account of Roosevelt Skerrit, who is and has some staff photographer named CHARLES JONG. So the licensing could be correct, the file information on Wikimedia Commons (creator: Roosevelt Skerrit) however isn't. I have removed the requests for speedy deletion for now. The incorrect file info affects hundreds of transfers from this flickr account, there is even Category:Photographs_by_Roosevelt_Skerr. --Polarlys (talk) 14:15, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
