Summary
[edit]Description1217Max-mag16-pjh.jpg |
English: 8 minute exposure of asteroid 1217 Maximiliana with a 14" telescope. 1217 Maximiliana is apparent magnitude 15.9 in this image taken at 2009-10-19 16:15 UT. Maximiliana was 1.6AU from the Earth. The small asteroid trail is caused by the telescope tracking the stars while the asteroid moved against the background stars. In the upper left is the spiral galaxy NGC 521 at magnitude 13. The star of comparable brightness just to the upper right of Maximiliana is magnitude 15.1. |
