Summary
[edit]DescriptionBradshaw Hall - geograph.org.uk - 63442.jpg |
English: Bradshaw Hall. A fine 17th-century hall, set in farmland and accessible only by footpath. Pevsner (Buildings of Englannd: Derbyshire) says "Dated 1620 on the handsome gateway. The date and arms of Francis Bradshaw (recent or recut) under a double-stepped hood-mould. The house is L-shaped, gabled, and has the usual many-mullioned windows with one transom, under straight hoods, not the earlier hood-moulds that come down on the sides. Windows once blocked altered in the 1960s. Inside, original panelling and ornamental plaster ceiling over the staircase." |
