The Canadian Open Neuroscience Platform (CONP) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License unless otherwise stated.

The CONP excludes all liability, to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, with respect to the use or distribution of any of its websites, products, or resources. Furthermore:

  • The user of CONP resources, such as datasets and analysis tools distributed through the CONP Portal, understands and acknowledges these resources may be protected by copyright, other intellectual property rights, and related rights. The user of CONP resources is solely responsible for ensuring that their use of those resources respects all applicable rights and licenses, and for discharging all other legal obligations applicable to them in making use thereof.
  • The user recognises that nothing in these Terms of Use shall operate to transfer to them any intellectual property rights in or relating to said resources.
  • The user agrees not to make intellectual property claims on these data, tools, and other resources, nor to use intellectual property protection in ways that would prevent or block access to them or any of their elements.
  • If permitted by the licence carried by a given resource (e.g., dataset), the user can elect to perform further research that would add intellectual and resource capital to these resources and decide to obtain intellectual property rights on these downstream discoveries.
  • The CONP reserves the right to make reasonable inquiries to verify that resources distributed through the CONP Portal are being used in a manner that is compatible with its policies and Terms of Use, where circumstances so warrant.
