Core for life

Core for Life was established in 2012 as an Excellence Alliance of Life Science Core Facilities in Europe. The mission of Core for Life is to explore the potential of coordinating and bundling core facility expertise and resources across institutes and countries in order to advance knowledge and to benefit the entire scientific and technological community. The allied Institutes:

cbg

MPI-CBG

The MPI-CBG services & facilities offer centralized research support within the Institute ensuring state-of-the-art equipment and expertise. They are independent of any research groups including directors. These services and facilities are also offered with recharging to the campus and to non-campus groups in order to maximize unused capacity and create cost efficiency for the Institute.

CRG

CRG

The Core Technologies Programme mission is to provide the research community state-of-the-art services and expertise to advance research and to support CRG being a world leading centre in biomedical science. Providing high quality and efficiency, we work towards becoming a “Reference Centre for Technology”.

curie

Institut Curie

CurieCoreTech provides Institut Curie researchers and other members of the scientific community with 19 state-of-the-art scientific platforms for their research. These high-tech systems help advance knowledge, improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancers, and optimize monitoring of patient outcomes.

FGCZ

FGCZ

The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint state-of-the-art research and training facility of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. With the latest technologies and key expertise for Omics research, the FGCZ carries out research projects and technology development in collaboration with the Zurich Life Science research community.

Insitut pasteur

Institut Pasteur

The Center for Technological Resources and Research (C2RT) is one of the four components of the Technology  Department. C2RT gathers the Technology and Service units (UTechS) and the technological core facilities of the campus, which are described below. The TechLab allows to host projects of technological research and to test new service activities.

VBCF

VBCF

The Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF) offers a cutting-edge research infrastructure that was, is and will be the solid foundation of breakthrough discoveries at the Vienna BioCenter, one of the most outstanding and prominent life sciences hubs in Central Europe.

embl

EMBL

EMBL’s unique portfolio of integrated scientific services enables researchers from all Member States and around the world to access a broad range of world-class infrastructures and resources through a single Europe-wide partner.

VIB

VIB

Access to cutting-edge technology is key in modern life science to accelerate scientific discoveries. VIB Technologies has a unique approach which provides its research community a competitive advantage by offering access to state-of-the art technologies.

best practice

Best Practices

Define best practices and common standards for core facility management, SOPs, quality control, pricing policies, etc.

training network

Training
