The dinar is the currency unit of various countries, most of them Arabic-speaking. The word "dinar" (دينار in Arabic and Persian) is derived from denarius, a Roman currency.

• Algeria: the Algerian dinar
• Bahrain: the Bahraini dinar
• Iran: the Iranian rial is divided into 100 dinars (not in use)
• Iraq: the Iraqi dinar
• Jordan: the Jordanian dinar
• Kuwait: the Kuwaiti dinar
• Libya: the Libyan dinar
• Serbia: the Serbian dinar (Kosovo and Metohija uses the euro in most of the territory)
