Klaus Ebner (* 8. August 1964 in Vienna (Austria) is an Austrian writer.
Bio
Klaus Ebner was born in 1964 and grew up in Vienna, Austria (Europe). In the 1980ies he co-founded a small literary group and gave public presentations of poetry and short prose. With the birth of his eldest son began a period of publishing numerous business and technology articles; he published several computer software books at Data Becker, Markt & Technik, IWT, TEWI and Microsoft Press and was co-author of an IBM Redbook in English. In the late 1990ies he authored articles in German, English and Catalan on networking technology, computer publishing and Romance philology. Additionally, he worked as a project manager for business education programs and as a translator.
For several years he has been working on a novel focusing on religious faith, interculturality and mutual understanding. Klaus Ebner won the Austrian Youth Prize for Literature and was awarded the TEXTE Radio Play Prize and the Feldkirch Poetry Prize. He was mentioned at the international poetry prize Premio Internazionale di Poesia Nosside 2007, based in Southern Italy. Intensifying literary creation especially after the year 2000, Klaus Ebner has published a quantity of short stories, essays and poems in literary magazines and newspapers throughout Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Catalonia; his books include "Physikstunde" (Lesson of Physics, stories), "Lutèce" (poetry) and the essay "Islamischer Fundamentalismus in der EU" (Islamic Fundamentalism in the European Union). Recently, he translated a novel from Catalan into German, and a trip to Andorra gave way to a large essay on the country in the Pyrenees. In 2007, he published a volume of short stories, "Lose".
