Image review

Hello - can you please see this page and my comment on the deleted image - I think that's a valid reason for immediate restoration. Thank you. JRG (talk) 09:24, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image review

I have another image for you to review 1. I need a third opinion. I left a message on the uploaders talk page about it. I had uploaded this image myself from the Florida Photographic Collection, and it was deleted in after a discussion. Andy thinks that the image should be kept and I think that it should be deleted. Thanks for your time whatever you think. Royalbroil 01:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:6308-340DisneyLandChopper-R.jpg listed for deletion

FROM Nv8200p:

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:6308-340DisneyLandChopper-R.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 22:48, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for that notice. Happy to know that the final decision was to not delete.
Since I am pretty new at Wiki, it might help me to understand how to do it better next time, if someone can let me know why my copyright to that photo was doubted. Does the "orphan" issue mean that I shouldn't upload a photo for use at Wiki, unless I have attached it to some article? EditorASC (talk) 16:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

REPLY FROM Nv8200p:

All images uploaded to Wikipedia should be attached to an article or they will be deleted as orphans. If you want to upload a free image that will not be used, then it should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.

I doubted the copyright on your photo because of its resolution. Typically a scanned in image will be a megabyte or two file size. At just 78 Kilobyte, the odds are good that the image was lifted off a web site somewhere. Users upload images from other web sites all the time and claim ownership when the copyright does not belong to them. -Regards Nv8200p talk 19:38, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much for that information; it helps me a lot. My original photo was indeed much larger than that, but since I only have dial-up access to the Internet, I must reduce the kbyt size of photos first. I have tried to upload much larger size photos, but it usually doesn't work with my very slow speed dial-up. EditorASC (talk) 20:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My comment didnt appear in the Possibly unfree images/2008 June 2

Here is the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/ariffin/359590007/ . The author confirms that the photo is released to "Public". - Jay (talk) 05:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it appears now, probably it needs some time to refresh. Pls ignore this. Thanks - Jay (talk) 05:28, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cammie king 1939.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Cammie king 1939.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Travis County, Texas photos

Hi Nv. I saw your name here. How to Eat Fried Worms was filmed in and around Austin, Texas. This article gives a very good description on the exact location where the film was shot. If you have the time, would you please take photos of the filming locations and post them in the How to Eat Fried Worms (film) article. Thanks. Bebestbe (talk) 23:22, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've started a discussion about Image:Michael Q. Schmidt at wrap party for Yesterday Was A Lie.jpg here. Please join in the discussion there. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 20:09, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ifd

Hi, thanks for clearing the ifd backlog, a not insubstantial piece of work. You closed Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2008_June_2#Image:Silence_in_the_Library.jpg as delete, but didn't delete it. Fasach Nua (talk) 07:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You put Image:1089910327_d1147ed468.jpg up for deletion

I wanted to change the image name thats why I didn't use it on the article, and as u say that that fair use rationale is insufficient that is not true because I've mentioned the author, publishers, the book and all other. It also being used in the Gurgaon and delhi article.Enthusiast10 talk 01:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The image cannot be replaced as there isn't any free images of this DLf City. It is an IT park, the largest in India.Enthusiast10 talk 01:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
