Welcome!

Hello, Highspeed, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. My mistake, I thought the effects of weed were common knowledge--in any case, I did find a source for the effects it has on you. Blueboy96 18:49, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with the GNIS mess wherein a certain editor is creating articles on obscure CA communities.

This mess started a while back when this editor/administrator apparently got access to a new book/source (like a new toy). He will overwhelm you and threaten you with Wiki-speak and the letter of the Wiki law as it were. He will call you a dick and get away with it...all the while junking up county templates and the entire encyclopedia with places that never really existed or were a brief flash in the pan (admittedly a few of those deserve mention, if not an article). Sadly, since only his beloved new tomb/source ever refers to many of these obscure "communities" it will be impossible to remove as you will likely never find another source for at least 50% of them. He will back up his claims with the occasional reference to a historical post office, often creating several articles on the same obscure place (many of his new communities are based on variations of the same name, but with a plural, contracted, or misspelled form) that were somehow picked up by GNIS (or another obscure reference) as a catchall. In any case, you will not succeed. He is very determined and well versed in the politics herein. I feel your pain. Just look at the (now) completely overwhelmed beloved Humboldt County template that he junked up. Welcome to the jungle. Norcalal (talk) 19:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I apologize for inadvertently causing the scramble edit found here. This occurred because of a recent FF3.5/Google Spellcheck bug documented here and here and my failure to properly & thoroughly proofread the page I edited before saving it. I have disabled Google spellcheck and I will re-double my efforts to check previews carefully before saving edits. The edit here was right after I had discovered this bug, but thought it had only affected the information I had added; I did not realize that it affected the whole article. I sincerely apologize. In the 800 edits over the past three years, I have never made a gibberish-type edit before the one above, and I will be really careful not to do it again. At this time I have only addressed the reason noted in the blocking template above in order to keep my request as short as possible; if you would like me to comment on any other issue, please let me know and I will gladly do so.

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=I apologize for inadvertently causing the scramble edit found [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Carlossuarez46&diff=301521629&oldid=301371964 here]. I sincerely apologize. If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=I apologize for inadvertently causing the scramble edit found [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Carlossuarez46&diff=301521629&oldid=301371964 here].
