Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena[3][4][5] is an Hindu ultranationalist [6] Indian political party formed in 2022 under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. It was allotted a new symbol by the Election Commission, separate from the main Shiv Sena. It is now one of two separate factions, the other being the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray). The factions have formed as a result of the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis. It is currently the ruling party in the state of Maharashtra, along with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Electoral Performance
The first face off between Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) was in 2022 Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Polls where Maha Vikas Aghadi won 457 gram panchayat seats while Mahayuti won 397 seats.Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena lost to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) by 40 gram panchayat seats.[8]
Ideology
The party is formed on principle of hardcore hindutva and ultranationalism.It is considered to be a heir of Balasaheb Thackeray's legacy of Hindutva.The party focusses on conservatism, opposition to terrorism and minority appeasement.[9]
