Purpose
[edit]I have read this more than once. Am I missing something? Nowhere does it state what the symbolism of the cross is originally. Jesus died on the cross, and believers call him Lord, savior, and Messiah. If I read this, not knowing the story of Jesus, I would not realize that the cross was a Christian symbol of Jesus. Yes, I know the pope, and Mary, and the word Catholic is mentioned, but the center of the story of the cross is Jesus. ... Isn't it? Who wrote this? L. Thomas W.
