General Md Abdul Mubeen took over as the chief of army staff of Bangladesh Army on 15 June 2009[1] replacing General Moeen U Ahmed who finished his four-year tenure of service and retired. Mubeen was promoted to the rank of general from lieutenant general with effect from that day. Gen Mubeen served as GOC in Jessore and Chittagong and on June 4 in 2008, he was made Principal Staff Officer to the Armed Forces Division.
