Chippewa Valley Schools is a school district located in Macomb County, Michigan. It contains several Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, with a total enrollment of over 14,000 students.

  • 2001 Division II Football State Champions, led by coach Mike Carr.

Notable Incidents

  • In 2004, pupil Andrew Osantowski was arrested for threatening an act of terrorism and ten other felony charges[4][5].
  • In 2006, pupil Joe Coppage was charged for making a bomb threat.[6]

Dakota High School is a public high school located in Macomb, Michigan, United States. It opened in 1995 as the second high school in the Chippewa Valley school district. An overflow of freshmen caused the need to build a ninth grade center. However, as that building could not be built in time for the 2007-2008 school year, Dakota had to utilize a finished wing of the new Seneca Middle School building. Currently, Chippewa Valley Schools has opened the ninth grade center for the 2008-2009 school year. [7]

Notable Sports Accomplishments

  • 2006 Division 1 Football State Champions, with a 13-1 record
  • 2007 Division 1 Football State Champions, with a 14-0 record [8][9]

Iroquois Middle School is one of four middle schools in the Chippewa Valley School District located in Macomb County in Michigan.

Previously the Iroquois Indians, but changed to the Panthers due to some people feeling that name was degrading to Native Americans.

In April 2008, the school started to go under construction to add a new wing to the school, a new band room, and several other rooms. The construction is now completed and the classrooms will begin to be used later this school year.

Seneca Middle School is a suburb based campus previously located in Clinton Township. While that building is now used as the Chippewa Valley High School 9th Grade Center and the International Academy of Macomb, the new building opened for the 2008-'09 school year is located in Macomb Township next to Dakota High School and Cheyenne Elementary School. Their mascot is the "Jaguars," and the school colors are green, gold, and white. [10]

Wyandot Middle School

School located on Garfield Rd. in Clinton Township Michigan. Wyandot is known as the "Hawks" With colors of Blue and Gold. This school was recently under heavy construction, but has since been mostly completed.
