I don't see a whole lot of discussion here. Well, I joined just now, figured I ought to since I've been doing some work on this topic over the past year. Grindcore?
Someone has added Grindcore to the Project Industrial page, which I don't believe is accurate. Since grindcore's birth in the mid 1980's, a number of groups have combined the sound with electronic elements, but that does not make it a sub-genre of industrial music. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.142.191.132 (talk • contribs) 02:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Statistics for project
Does anyone know how to set something like this up for WP Industrial? Pmcginty (talk) 22:41, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't messed with this, but this page can get us started if we do it. I'll look into it a little bit. Xe7al (talk) 11:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, so I was being stupid. I found ours. It is automatically generated with our tagging of articles.

Instructions for Updating
I'm not sure if the bot automatically updates our statistics and worklist. Either way, it might help to know how to manually update our statistics/worklist.
- Go to the WP 1.0 bot updater page: Here.
- In the text box, enter Industrial music and press submit.
- Patiently wait for the bot to scan for new articles and updates.
That's all it takes. Everything should be updated after that. Enjoy! Xe7al (talk) 02:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Keep An Eye Out For Genre Edits
I just spent a chunk of my night reverting genre edits made by Jotsko. I have already put in a request for him to be blocked since his talk page is full of warnings and notifications of disregarding Wikipedia policies. He has gone through several of the Industrial pages and changed genre listings to obscure sub-genres, half of which do not have existing pages on Wikipedia. Several Skinny Puppy and ohGr pages had been changed to Glitch/Glitchcore or had that genre added. I would keep an eye on Jotsko's Contributions.
On the bright side, it forced me to look at several of the Skinny Puppy pages. A bunch of them needed to have their genre listings aligned with the other pages.
Thanks guys, Xe7al (talk) 10:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up and will certainly keep an eye out. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 22:18, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Main Page Changes
I tweaked the main page to look more professional and more in line with several other established WikiProjects. I turned the side bar into a template with links to other pages for our group. Look over the changes and tell me what you think. Hopefully, you guys like it. Xe7al (talk) 13:14, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I have also created a member page and assessment page. Xe7al (talk) 13:49, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Looks good. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 21:40, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Cool. Feel free to play with the layout if you think something needs fixing. BTW, I just have Top Members listed so we remember not to overload our front page. As of right now, we're small enough to fit everyone in. It's mostly a temp thing until someone finds something better. Xe7al (talk) 02:24, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Blackhouse
I was just introduced to a Christian industrial project called Blackhouse. Obviously there is nothing about it on Wikipedia. Anyone care to at least work on a stub? Here is a link to the official website. Pmcginty (talk) 00:58, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- It might be noteworthy considering the length of time the band has been producing albums. I'm unfamiliar with the group, so will defer to those who are. Do you want to go ahead and start the stub and we can fill it it as information becomes available? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 21:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Consider the request filled. Been on my todo list for a while now, but just got the sources that I needed to properly write it. Dan, the CowMan (talk) 03:50, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
GA reassessment of Coil (band)
I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I am notifying you as the article has a banner for your project. I have found some serious concerns with the article which you can see at Talk:Coil (band)/GA1. I have de-listed the article but it can be brought back to WP:GAN when fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:39, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
1980s in music
I'm thinking article 1980s in music should have some mention of Industrial music? Any thoughts on this inclusion? What to mention and what isn't worth adding? Thanks. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 01:58, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
ATelecine
The Sasha Grey article makes reference to an Industrial project called ATelecine. I wonder if it warrants a short article. I don't, however, know much about it. Thoughts? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 16:55, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
WP 1.0 bot announcement
This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:27, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Request for comment on Biographies of living people
Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:
Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, many wikiproject topics will be effected.
The two opposing positions which have the most support is:
- supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
- opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect
Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.
Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced BLP articles if they are not sourced, so your project may want to source these articles as soon as possible. See the next, message, which may help.
