Martyn Godfrey was an English-Canadian author of childern's fantasy books. He was born in Birmingham, England on April 17 1949 but moved to Toronto Canada when he was eight. He graduated from university in 1974 as a teacher. An Edmonton Young Writers’ Conference held by the Edmonton Public Library, ,and was the Library’s writer-in-residence in 1989. He died in 2000.
