My recent additions to the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" article.

Regarding my recent edits to this article that provided additional chart information from the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and Hot Adult Contemporary charts, please look at this reference for proof before you decide to delete them (even though I did provide references in the article this time). For additional proof, click the following link and scroll down to pages 102 and 109 from the actual January 7, 1995 issue of Billboard magazine to see the actual charts:

If you'd like the actual stats for the song on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and Hot Adult Contemporary chart for the Christmas seasons of 1994-95, 1995-96 and 1996-97 (specifically chart peaks each year and number of weeks charted each year), please contact me. Just wanted to bring to your attention (in case you're unaware) that Mariah Carey's hit single "Oh Santa!" now has its own page, and it looks like it needs a ton of work (especially with grammar and spelling). I know that this article has been flip-flopping over the last couple of months to either be or not be redirected to the Merry Christmas II You album, but I still wanted to bring it to your attention.

As for the change that I did at the AIWFCIY article, did you understand it? This is done for WP:ACCESS issues. Remember Nathan, not everyone uses a normal 800x600 browser, and adding a 230px or 280px image overlaps sections for them. The page appears broken too. Hence it is always best to leave them without the pixel size, so that the pictures will be suitably shifted accordign to the screen resolution. I hope I made myself clear. I write this in peace :) We both know Merry Christmas is not the best seling Christmas album of all time. But Wikipedia will allow you to say that because it is sourced. However Mariah's label says "one of the best selling", and this year they wrote it sold/shipped 12 million. Elvis Pressley has sold/shipped 12 million in the U.S. alone (and it is a number from few years ago). His album is also Platinum in Canada and Silver in the UK. I haven't checked other countries. So it has clearly sold more. Celine also has sold 12 million (wonder what's the difference between her and Mariah). But since most editors supported you, I will leave it.

As you know I like Mariah and I watch all her performances promoting new album. I wish "Oh Santa" could chart on the Billboard Hot 100. But she's still around #110 on iTunes and hasn't reached top 100 yet. She has 2 more weeks to achieve that. Fingers crossed.

Maybe you will ask Paul Grein about "The Remixes" sales? This number of 199,000 copies should be updated.

And about Celine: I hate Sony for not updating Celine's certifications. Example: in the U.S. All the Way... A Decade of Song has sold 7,934,000 copies and is still 7x platinum. Only 66,000 copies missing to 8 million. It must have shipped much more than 66,000 copies! And it's the same with her other albums (and not only in the US).

What I would like to find out first is when exactly RIANZ established its certification system. Would you happen to know it? If Max is being truthful about the number of certifications for all albums you mentioned, then based on the peaks of the albums (Music Box VS Falling into You or Daydream VS Let's Talk About Love), the number of the weeks they've all spent at the peak-position etc., the only thing there is left to assume is that RIANZ seems to have launched its certification system right before both Dion's albums were released, leaving Carey's both those albums semi-certified. In other words, it looks like both Carey's albums had already sold some 75,000 respectively (5x Platinum-just an example) before RIANZ has launched its certification-system, and after that point, only the other half of some 150,000 units of each album got captured by their certification-scheme. I hope I made sense, you could also contact RIANZ and ask for both Carey's and Dion's full list of certifications. You are exactly correct! AC tops R&B and Hip-Hop. I admit Jessica oversings sometimes, but she's kinda down to earth like Mariah. I do love Celine too. Mandy, for me has some good songs like "Candy" (not our Candy), "I Wanna Be With You" and "Cry". And, Whitney was really really good! I didn't like Whitney before, but when I hear this, I kinda fell for her music. Now, its like she's lost it! But, I heard a clip of BET's Celebration of Gospel 2011, where Whitney sang, and she did sound good unlike her tour. As I said earlier, in case of MC, Glitter is not a "flop". SoundScan sales figures for Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas".

Hi Nathan:

Two different IP addresses have updated the Nielsen SoundScan sales total for MC's Merry Christmas within the Best-selling Christmas/holiday albums in the United States article to 5,108,657 without providing any updated reference. Do you know where they may have gotten this latest SoundScan sales figure from? I keep reverting the figure back to the last known total (5,100,000) from Billboard online article from a couple of weeks ago until someone can provide a valid reference, and I have no idea where they're getting this supposed new sales total from.
