I'm posting this here because the WikiProject Islam banner is included at [[Talk:Jerusalem]]. The dispute over the lead section is one of the oldest on Wikipedia, dating back to 2003, and focuses on whether or not it is neutral to say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. WikiProject iconIslam Project‑class
WikiProject iconThis page is within the scope of WikiProject Islam, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of Islam-related articles on Wikipedia. If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the discussion and see a list of open tasks.
ProjectThis page does not require a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Request for input in discussion forum

Given the closely linked subjects of the various religion, mythology, and philosophy groups, it seems to me that we might benefit from having some sort of regular topical discussion forum to discuss the relevant content. I have put together the beginnings of an outline for such discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion/2011 meeting, and would very much appreciate the input of any interested editors. I am thinking that it might run over two months, the first of which would be to bring forward and discuss the current state of the content, and the second for perhaps some more focused discussion on what, if any, specific efforts might be taken in the near future. Any and all input is more than welcome. John Carter (talk)

Ãrchitect of Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh

The architect of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque 1879-1881 in Banda Aceh was not Italian, nor French.... he was Dutch, and he was my great-grandfather Gerrit Bruins (first name: Gerrit. Last/family name: Bruins) who worked for the (Dutch colonialist)Department of Water and Public works in Batavia. He was born in 1834 in Zwolle, Netherlands and died in 1920 in Magelang. 83.83.172.13 (talk) 11:41, 29 March 2013 (UTC) Christel Terwiel, Utrecht, The Netherlands[reply]

Jesus work group

Jesus work group, a work group of WikiProject Christianity, is inactive. I've boldly made it a joint work group of WikiProjects Christianity, Islam, and Bahá'í Faith in an attempt to revive it. Would anyone from this project like to join and revive the Jesus work group. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 23:57, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An issue has arisen about whether new content in this article is usable, or is original synthesis; see WP:FTN#Muhammad in the Bible. In my opinion, it would be very helpful if a few people who actually know something about Islam would take a look at this. (I myself know very little.) Hello! I came across the article Taqarub on a list of articles lacking references. I've done a little research and added a few sources, but I thought the article could benefit from some attention from someone who's more familiar with Islam-related subjects, who might have a better idea of the topic's relative importance (there just doesn't seem to be all that much written about it) and might be able to point me towards some useful resources to improve the article. There is a discussion of renaming Category:Sharia. I figured some people in this project might want to comment on the proposal.John Pack Lambert (talk) 00:52, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In the article history of breakfast, suhoor is mentioned. In Islam, is Suhoor considered breakfast, a replacement of breakfast during Ramadan, or completely unrelated to breakfast? Ryan Vesey 16:08, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suhoor is whats eaten just before sunrise. Its generally seen as nutrition in order to last until runset. Not sure whether its "breakfast" though. Pass a Method talk 21:47, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

With reference to the discussions at the Al-Ahbash page, it becomes abundantly clear that the subject of Al-Ahbash isextremely controversial, thus, that page desperately need the involvement of some previously non-involved, impartial, neutral, just, fair and knowledgeable editors who can kindly help with a version of Al-Ahbash (and other Al-Ahbash related pages) which presents the information written by the Al-Ahbash as well as its opponents (including "Wahabis", "Salafis", "Infidels" or "Kaafir" .etc) objectively under the light of pertinent sources and Wikipedia's NPOV guidelines. Your kind and precious help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. McKhan (talk) 14:57, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rihla

I'm getting ready to perform a re-write of Rihla to better describe the travel practice and literary genre, beyond just the account of Ibn Battuta. See the talk page for more info.
