CSC is also known for it's controversial "Learning Festival", an annual tradition spanning many generations, that provides quality education for the students in a fun, well prepared manner, to ease them from the harsh conditions of regular school work into a more accepting, relaxed environment just shy of the school holidays. Such activities include encouraging students to express their innovative skills in creating their own custom "Athlete Potato", in order of celebrating the [[2018 Commonwealth Games]].

Castlemaine Secondary College is a state secondary school located in the town of Castlemaine in central Victoria, Australia. It was attended by Sean Finning, gold medallist of the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and Dustin Martin, 2016 Brownlow Medallist for the Australian Football League. It is the only state secondary school in the Mount Alexander Shire.
