Contingency planning
STS-317
STS-317 is the designation given to the Contingency Shuttle Crew Support mission which would have been launched in the event Space Shuttle Discovery became disabled during STS-116. It is a modified version of the STS-117 mission, which would involve the launch date being brought forward. If needed, it would have launched no earlier than February 21, 2007. The crew for this mission is a 4 person subset of the full STS-117 crew.
