Jogo Duplo (English: Double Game) was Portuguese telenovela broadcast and produced by TVI. It was written by Artur Ribeiro. The telenovela premiered on November 4, 2017[1]. It is recorded between Portugal (Setúbal and Alcácer do Sal), China (Macau) and Asia (Vietnam).

Plot

After an exile in Macau, João Guerra (João Catarré) decides to return to Portugal to reconquer Margarida (Sara Prata), the lost love of his adolescence and daughter of Afonso (Nuno Homem de Sá) and Maria João Barbosa (Fernanda Serrano) which provoked a separation of the young couple, not last.

Once in his native land, João finds himself in the midst of an ancestral rivalry like Guerra and Barbosa families, in a region that is experiencing a conflict between an urbanity, a rurality and luxury tourism of the coast, and where a cohabitation is not always peaceful.

However, all these conflicts will be eclipsed by a greater external threat when Manuel Qiang (Diogo Infante), João's former boss in Macao, after losing the war with a rival triad, returns to Portugal, determined to conquer a new Business empire, unscrupulous and using all legal and illegal methods.

Iran is their former mentor and tries to gather around them as region forces, for this powerful man can only be defeated if all enemies resolve as their differences and become allies.

Moving on the constantly changing game board, we will have the various sides of a complex society, rich in bombastic events, involving the elements of police, who fight against crime, teachers and students of an arts school, who they try to make a difference through art, journalists who run and search as news, businessmen or popular, working in very different conditions, and a profusion of complex characters in the history where the heroes are capable of terrible acts and the villains will have moments of salvation.
