- ... that the founder, Tomas Fung, founded the predecessor of the restaurant Ling Nam with only 3,000 Philippine pesos?

- @TheNuggeteer: New enough and long enough. Nominator is QPQ-exempt. Can't view the source. I do have an issue with the wording in the hook. Article says he founded Wa Yan with 3,000 pesos, sold it, and then founded Ling Nam (no peso number given). This needs reconciling with the hook fact. - Fixed, though it sounds less interesting.

New reviewer needed unless Sammi Brie returns. Z1720 (talk) 19:58, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies — I have had a hectic month, and small items are especially prone to just falling off the table. It's...okay, though I feel it is something of a stretch. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 00:59, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- Comment to make the hook a little stronger, I would recomment changing "pesos" to Philippine pesos to be more specific. SeymourHolcomb (talk) 19:33, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- @SeymourHolcomb Fixed the hook like you said; TheNuggeteer (talk) 00:14, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Comment This DYK is not true. The article reads, "With the ₱3,000 he had saved up, Fung started Wa Yan Restaurant in Quiapo, Manila in July 1945, with his other friends from Zhongshan." — VORTEX3427 (Talk!) 02:39, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

@Markoolio97: Hello! If you don't mind me asking, what is "IPHOPHIL entry SR-3797" and how do I access it? — VORTEX3427 (Talk!) 23:47, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- @3427 Hi! SR-3797 is the reference number of one of the record for Ling Nam from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL) or World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) brand database. Here is the brand database website for more details: https://branddb.wipo.int/en/IPO-PH/quicksearch
- Here is the record for Ling Nam under Mr. Tomas Fung which I presume to be the same as the founder specified in the wiki article https://branddb.wipo.int/en/IPO-PH/quicksearch/brand/PH500000000SR3797
