My RFA

Hi Terence, you asked me to remind you to relook at my RFA three days ago, so here's your reminder! I have been making a concerted effort to prove my understanding of policy in WP:AFD and WP:CFD since you last visited. Thanks again for your interest in my application. Cheers! hey

Hey, I am so sorry. I was out of town and now I have to prepare for exams (after winter break--I know it sucks). I will be willing and ready to commence as soon as they are over (Friday of next week). Sorry about that, I hope you are still willing to coach me after my exams. My Request for Adminship

Thanks for contributing to my RfA! Thank you for your support in my my RfA, which passed with a tally of 117/0/1. I hope that my conduct as an admin lives up to the somewhat flattering confidence the community has shown in me. Please don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page should you need anything or want to discuss something with me. Hi Terence. I'm a day or two late with your requested reminder... sorry! You asked me to remind you to review the RfA. My RFA

Hey, thanks for participating in my recent RFA. You were amongst a number of editors who remained neutral on the topic. The RFA did not succeed (69/26/11). I am extremely grateful that you took the time to advise me on to improve as a Wikipedian and I'd like to assure you that I'll do my level best to develop my skills here to a point where you may feel you could trust me with the mop.

I've been blown away by the level of interest taken in my RFA and appreciate the time and energy dedicated by all the editors who have contributed to it, support, oppose and neutral alike. I hope to bump into you again soon and look forward to serving you and Wikipedia in any way I can. Cheers! Singapore general election, 2006

Good job, I will see what i can do. If online cite is the only problem, then it can be easily addressed, like ensuring at least one reference for each paragraph. I feel that the amount of content is sufficient. In fact, some sections can be shortened to improve readibility. If you find any paragraph too long-winded, feel free to summarize it. You can use the todo-box to list any outstanding items, i will look into it. Thanks. --Vsion 15:25, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Knowledge is your destiny, but don't ever hurry the journey
May there be many summer mornings when
With what pleasure and joy, you come into harbors seen for the first time

Don't expect Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey
And, if I, one of your fellow-travellers, can offer something
To make this journey of yours even more fascinating and enjoyable
This is my assistance with anything I can help.

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Saligron 13:19, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Saligron 14:14, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murder of Tom ap Rhys Pryce in which you participated, some editors suggested the need for a guideline where a consensus could be reached regarding whether everything which is newsworthy is also encyclopedic. I have created a draft of a proposed guideline Wikipedia talk:Notability (news). Your input is welcome. Thanks. Edison 15:18, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drini deleted your comments from the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard

[1]

AFAIK, this is disruptive behaviour.

I asked for all the comments (and my original text, rebutting Drini´s defamation against me) to be reposted again [2], and Drini deleted my petition and posted new defamatory (i.e., false) stuff against me [3].

I was receiving good ideas about what to do from other administrators until Drini came and started posting factually false nonsense [4] about me (as Drini recognized [5]). Drini was called to enter the fray from the Spanish Wikipedia [6].

I think that this Drini´s behaviour is outrageous, and I ask you for help. What can I do?.

Randroide 11:47, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not so bad. False alarm, maybe

Well, the situation is not so bad as I thought (albeit is neither a good one).

Drini pasted the whole discussion in a different linked page [7].

I missed that pasting. I thought the text was deleted.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Nonetheless, any comment?.

Mediation Cabal Request

Hello! I'm .V., a member of Wikipedia's mediation cabal. We provide informal and optional mediation to users in disputes so, hopefully, it can be resolved early instead of being taken to "official" channels (the Mediation Committee or Arbitration). A user has filed a mediation cabal request regarding a discussion on a page in which you are a participant. You can find a link to the mediation here.

Remember, this mediation is purely optional and the result is non-binding. The goal of this mediation is to hopefully resolve the matter peacably, fairly, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Thanks! .V. [Talk|Email] 23:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

C151 photography

If you have time to spare I think it's time we started taking photos of empty unrefurbished C151's interior (public accessible areas) inside out while they are still in the majority. Ideally we should have a extensive, free collection (perhaps a commons page of its own!) before the last C151 rolls into the depot for refurbishment.

Some things you may want to consider :

  • All three compartments D-M-M.
  • Corridor, door and safety features.
  • For driving motor, the front with the builder plate and the door in full view. If you have a lot of time, collect all four plates!
  • Experimental units w/ the dynamic in-train system

If you have some in your hard drive, do upload them! Happy Chinese New Year and train spotting! :) - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 08:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
