If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 16:34, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to MISBHV does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Hello, I'm JohnFromPinckney. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Switzerland, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Without an edit summary, as explained above, I have no chance of guessing where you got the population and density figures you used in your changes, as they conflict with the swissworld.org source already cited. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 21:07, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Yeeno (talk) 🍁 22:03, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of Scharliina
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Scharliina requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Issue with reFill
Hi Mooonswimmer, I noticed that in one of your recent stub creations, a link to olympics.com appeared as a garbled combination of dots and forward slashes. I assume that you're using reFill to format these refs, since this is a recent issue (see this discussion) – until and if it can get fixed, please double check whenever you use the tool. Thanks! AngryHarpytalk 11:22, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Mooonswimmer, I see you took my previous remark to heart, so thanks for that! I noticed some other things that could be improved with your stubs, and I'd like to take this opportunity and list some of them:
- Firstly, I noticed you're using the (notoriously terrible) Visual Editor to make your edits. That's totally understandable – so did I, when I was new – but you should make yourself familiar with the actual wikitext at some point, as editing this way makes for a much less, well, stunted experience. To try out the source editor, all you have to do is click the drop-down to the left of the "Publish changes" button and select "Source editing". I also recommend you immediately press the marker button () in the upper toolbar of the source editor, which activates syntax highlighting and will make your life much easier.
- For biographical articles about living subjects, you should add at least the two basic categories

and
. Just paste those two snippets of code to the very bottom of the page (replacing XXXX with the actual birth year and while in source editing mode, of course). - Thirdly, well... I'm actually going to stop at that for now; this place can be a lot to take in (even if you aren't brand-new), so I'll give you an opportunity to actually try out the source editor first. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them right here! AngryHarpytalk 12:47, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jeremy Rudd

When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of Meadow Rain Walker
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Meadow Rain Walker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://parade.com/1227537/rose-maura-lorre/paul-walker-daughter-meadow/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Thank you for creating Patricia Dauder.
User:Vexations, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
The subject is notable, as her work is in several notable museum collections, but it would be nice to have an article that actually says something about her, rather than a list of exhibitions that appears to have been copied from https://iscp-nyc.org/resident/patricia-dauder. The article Hunter Labrada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
"qualified to compete" is not competing. Not yet notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 08:38, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
As per WP:SPORTSPERSON:
A sportsperson is presumed to be notable if the person **has actively participated in a major amateur or professional competition** or won a significant honor and so is likely to have received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject.
Labrada has already competed in two Mr. Olympia competitions (2020, 2021). I have fixed a broken link and added a reference to Mr. Olympia scorecard posted on their official website. Moonswimmer Mooonswimmer

- Hello, Mooonswimmer,
- After an article has been deleted through an AFD decision, it can not be immediately recreated or it is subject to speedy deletion, CSD G4. Your alternatives are to go to Deletion review and argue that the closure of the AFD was flawed (which can be an uphill battle) or compose a new draft and submit it to Articles for Creation for review. But it's best to wait for some time to pass before doing so. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 23:02, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey there. Just a quick note to make sure you know that WP:NOLYMPIC changed back in October. The guideline is stricter now, Olympians have to have received a medal (or pass WP:GNG). I see you are creating Olympian stubs with no GNG passing references, so I want to make sure you're aware of the stricter WP:NOLYMPIC criteria. Hope that helps, happy editing. –Novem Linguae (talk) 15:34, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oh my.. I appreciate the heads up, @Novem Linguae. I had another few dozen on my list.
- The guidelines for certain specific sports seem to cover any athlete who has competed in the Olympics, notably (WP:NTRACK, WP:NGYMNASTICS). 2 of the articles I created today are for sprinters, and they seem to be notable in accordance with WP:NTRACK, don't you think?
- The other two are for fencers (no specific guidelines delineated for fencers). One of them is ranked 26th internationally.
- Do you think I should have them all deleted? Delete the fencing ones? Keep all? Not sure how to proceed.. Mooonswimmer 19:00, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hey there. That's a really good point about those specific sports that still qualify all Olympians. I didn't know that. Just now I made an edit to WP:NOLYMPIC that makes this a bit clearer, hopefully it sticks. I think you should keep all these, since you already wrote them. I would beef up the fencing ones with more references, if available. The worst that happens is you get a bunch of deletion notices on your talk page in 3 months when WP:NPPers review these. For any articles you create from this point on, I'd be careful to make sure they pass an WP:SNG (track, gynmastics, etc.) or WP:GNG. To pass GNG, need around 3 reliable sources such as newspapers or books that go into multiple paragraphs of detail about the subject. Hope that helps. Happy editing. –Novem Linguae (talk) 01:26, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

@Hughesdarren: Thank you for your contribution! I had some trouble with the infobox so I added a Classification section hoping someone would be able to sort it out later on. Glad to see it was done so promptly. Happy editing! Mooonswimmer 00:01, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Mnelia
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mnelia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
Shirt58 (talk) 11:00, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
Mnelia moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Mnelia, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -- TNT (talk • she/her) 11:52, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
Your proposed deletion of Jews for Israeli–Palestinian Peace
Hi! I'm just leaving a message on your talk page because I've reverted an edit you made on Jews for Israeli–Palestinian Peace which you unsuccessfully attempted to PROD. I'm letting you know in case you want to attempt again (I know little on the subject area so I'm not going to PROD it myself). EvanTaylor1289 (talk) 19:11, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
@EvanTaylor1289: Thanks for the heads up! I've been having trouble with proposed deletions. Could you point out what it is I'm doing wrong? Thank you! Mooonswimmer 19:31, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Mooonswimmer: I'm not an expert but I think you are adding the nowiki and code wikitext by accident. It might be where you are copying the template from that is causing it. Hope this helps! EvanTaylor1289 (talk) 19:47, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from List of Israeli assassinations into List of assassinations of scientists attributed to Mossad. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 16:17, 10 January 2022 (UTC)

The article Rue le Caire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non notable film, appears to fail WP:NFILM
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DonaldD23 talk to me 15:39, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Ways to improve Sabah Kenway
Hello, Mooonswimmer,
Thank you for creating Sabah Kenway.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Okay, this article has 4 sources. The first is an interview, and therefore a primary source, which can't be used to show notability. The second is a blog, and therefore an unreliable source. The 3rd and 4th are simple non-indepth coverage. So currently it does not pass WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with Onel5969

Hello, Mooonswimmer
Thank you for creating Rue le Caire.
User:Onel5969, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
What you need to show notability is several in-depth articles about the film. Right now, you only have 3 short listings showing that the film was made.

@Onel5969: Many of these articles were made for the African Film Contest, where Africine and Africultures were listed as reliable, independent source ( Wikipedia:WikiProject AfroCine/Reliable Sources ). I was dubious but still cited them in most of the articles, even when plenty of reliable sources were available. I can definitely see the notability issue now.
Just checked again for better sourcing, and after a pretty extensive search in English, Arabic, and French, I couldn't come up with anything substantial. Doesn't meet GNG. Should I let the PROD run its course, or redirect to the filmmaker's article as you did with Une femme du Sahel, Aminata Traore?
PS: I know the citation overkill on most of the articles you've reviewed is very hard on the eyes! This weekend I'll be revising every single one of them and trimming down the references ;) Thanks again for your help. Mooonswimmer 13:33, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- I would redirect it, as per WP:ATD. What you are doing mostly is not necessarily citebombing (although you do do it occasionally), citebombing is where you put more than 2 refs for something. What you tend to do, is put lots of different refs on different things. That's okay. But what I said for this article goes for many of your film articles, where there is little in-depth coverage. But overall, you're getting the hang of it. Onel5969 TT me 13:38, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

I'm redirecting this to the director. If you can find another source or review, like the one in Variety, that would show its notability. Right now the other 3 are simply catalogue listings.

@Onel5969: Hmm.. I think this one's notable enough for a standalone article. Especially considering Nigerien media infrastructure.
It was screened at:
- IDFA, the world's largest documentary film festival. [1]**
- FESPACO, Africa's largest film festival. [2] The director took away a few awards for the film. Nigerien Press Agency, [3], [4]
- Visions du Reél Another significant international documentary film festival. ScreenDaily
etc...
I'm aware interviews are moot when its comes to establishing notability, but here's an interview with the director, published in Le Point: [5]
Here's an review by Davide Abbatescianni, a member of FIPRESCI who also contribtues to Variety: [6]
It might not meet GNG, but I think many of these African cinema article should be evaluated on their own merits, taking into account the infrastructure of many of these countries, as well as the so-called geographical bias on Wikipedia. Zinder's a pretty significant production for a country with only one cinema. Perhaps we can apply the third point of Wikipedia:Notability_(films)#Inclusionary_criteria:
The film was successfully distributed domestically in a country that is not a major film producing country, and was produced by that country's equivalent of a "major film studio." Articles on such a film should assert that the film in question was notable for something more than merely having been produced, and if any document can be found to support this, in any language, it should be cited.
If you come to the conclusion that the film is notable/of value and revert the redirect, I will definitely be expanding the article a bit. Mooonswimmer 14:06, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
