Gypsy Girl (Television series) → Gypsy Girl – Until very recently, this article was the primary meaning of "Gypsy Girl", it has been moved without a proper discussion. PatGallacher (talk) 00:15, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. The television program is not well known outside of the UK, and is a rather niche topic. It also has no references (per WP:IMDB imdb does not count) and is of questionable notability. I'm not sure it would survive an AFD. I would support moving Gypsy Girl (disambiguation) to Gypsy Girl per WP:NOPRIMARY. There is clearly not a primary topic. I'd also like to point out that The Gypsy Girl (Hals) painting is often not called "The Gypsy Girl" but simply "Gypsy Girl" in scholarly sources (for example, page 13, page 195, page 120) Sources are pretty evenly divided on "Gypsy Girl" and "The Gypsy Girl" for the painting (something that we should make clear in that article as there is no consistent title use in the academic literature). If anything is going to claim a top spot for both titles it would be that one, although I don't think the painting is likely to be the only search target in balance with all the other possible targets. Given that both titles are used for the painting, and that the overall number of possible search terms is sizable, I think housing the disambiguation page at "Gypsy Girl" and redirecting "The Gypsy Girl" to the dab page is the best choice. 4meter4 (talk) 03:18, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Gypsy Girl (TV series) per WP:NCTV, and move Gypsy Girl (disambiguation) to Gypsy Girl per User:4meter4. 162 etc. (talk) 13:28, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Notability
Although I cannot find an exact source, I think you will find that series which have been screened on a national television have tended to be regarded as notable. Also, although I know notability is not inherited, I see that both the author and one of the actors are notable with articles (and the latter is quite well known). - Please do not remove the tag until multiple sources have been added that demonstrate independent significant coverage (see WP:SIGCOV and WP:BURDEN).BFI and TV guide listings without an attributed author would not be considered SIGCOV. We need multiple sources with SIGCOV, such as critical reviews, academic publications, etc. with a bylined author to meet the notability threshold.4meter4 (talk) 18:01, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
I realise that this is only an essay, but I quote WP:BCASTOUTCOMES "Television series, game shows, and talk shows broadcast nationally by a major network or produced by a major studio are usually kept." PatGallacher (talk) 18:38, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. The tag isn't hurting anything though, and its purpose is to encourage editing in a specific direction. The tag by design states, "Please help to demonstrate the notability of the topic by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention." Clearly the tag is meant to be used on articles like this one; to encourage editors to add the bare minimum of sourcing to prove notability. Best.4meter4 (talk) 18:44, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
