Why the list of names?

[edit]

Wikipedia is not a directory of miscellaneous information. Millions of people were prisoners in one camp or another in WW2, and in general we do not list every person who was an inmate or guard, any more than we list every sailor on every ship, or every soldier in every regiment. The only ones who should be named in this article are those who somehow were the subject of secondary coverage, perhaps for rebellion or escape attempts, or who were notable for something other than being a POW. Merge discussion

[edit]

The content of Battle of Bowmanville should be merged into this article. With reference to WP:MERGE, there is large overlap in the topics in the two articles, and duplication of content at Battle of Bowmanville that could be moved here. The resulting combined article would not be too long or unwieldy, since there is already a sub-section for the battle with much of the same content in the article here. --papageno (talk) 17:27, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Additional escape (attempt)?

[edit]

By accident, I found this article from "The Pittsburgh Press" from May 6, 1942. It mentions another escape attempt. Or is that one already listed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.171.108.130 (talk) 22:32, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
