Emmanuel Oloja Akpakwu is a Nigerian entrepreneur, sport administrator and diplomat. He is the current Honorary Consul of Philippines to Nigeria and Chairman of the Dakinda Group which includes Dakinda Football Club.[2][3][4][5]
Biography
Educated at the Army Day Primary and Secondary School in Cross River State, in 1992 he enrolled at Benue State Polytechnic to study Diploma in Banking and Finance and continued at the Centre for Computer Engineering and Site Power Institute of Technology, Dubai, UAE. He obtained his BSc in Political Science at National Open University of Nigeria.
Involvement in sports
Akpakwu has worked as a sport administrator and carried out several sport projects which led him to formed his own club the Dakinda Football Club based in Nigeria in 2016.[6][7]Later in 2018, after living and working in Slovenia for couple of years, he was appointed President of Slovenian second division club Drava Ptuj.[8][9][10]
Diplomatic career
In 2020, he was appointed the Philippines Honorary Consul to Nigeria. Akpakwu is tasked to develop the bilateral ties of the Philippines with Nigeria.[11][12][13]
