Endrit "Endri" Shabani (born 8 February 1985) is an Albanian academic and politician who has been serving as chairman of Nisma Thurje since 2020. He is a member of the Tirana Municipal Council since 2023.[4][5]

Early life and education

Shabani was born on 8 February 1985 in Tirana. He attended high school at Harry Fultz Institute and graduated in law at Luarasi University in Tirana. In 2013, he continued his master's degree in law at the Pembroke College, Oxford in the United Kingdom, which he completed with distinction.[6]

In 2014, Shabani received the prestigious Clarendon scholarship for doctoral studies in the Department of Politics and International Relations at Oxford, which he completed in 2020.[6]

Shabani has a PhD in political science from the St Antony's College, Oxford.[7]

Professional career

From 2007 to 2011, Shabani worked as a project manager for Transparency International Albania. After that, he was a consultant for the Council of Europe in an anti-corruption project in Albania for about a year.[7]

From 2011 to 2013 he worked as a lecturer at Luarasi University.[7]

In 2015, he worked for several months as a program manager for the Open Society Foundation Albania. In 2017, he was a consultant to UN Women for Albania.[7]

From 2018 to 2019 he worked as a research fellow and briefly as a guest lecturer at Sciences Po University in Paris.[7]

Political career

Shabani started his political activism in 2012 during the protests against the waste import law. Later he joins Nisma Thurje and is elected its chairman.[6]

In the 2021 parliamentary election, Shabani received 1017 votes.[8]
