Tamsui–Xinyi line
The Red Line is three lines of the Taipei Rapid Transit System, the Danshui Line, the Xinyi Line, and the Xinbeitou Branch Line. With the completion of the Xinyi Line in 2012, trains currently travelling from Danshui onto the Xindian Line will be switched onto the Xinyi Line. Therefore, there will be no need to transfer from the (current) Danshui-Xindian lines to the future Xinyi Line as it is with the current situation. Instead, passengers will need to transfer from the Red Line to the Green Line when the second phase of the TRTS's metro expansion is completed sometime between 2009 and 2019.
