Amy Spangler is a breastfeeding expert who has lectured extensively and published several books on nursing. She is certified as an MN, RN and IBCLC.

Spangler earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Ohio State University and an Master's degree in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Florida. In 1985, she authored Breastfeeding: A Parent’s Guide, which has sold 400,000 copies to both parents and health organizations. As president of her own web-based company, Amy’s Babies, Spangler develops additional books and resources for those curious about breastfeeding.

She has worked as consultant for the Ad Council and as a commentator on various news programs including 20/20 and Good Morning America.[1] Spangler has also been president of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ICLA) and a chair of the United States Breastfeeding Committee. She is now a member of the affiliate faculty at the Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

Spangler lives in Atlanta, Georga with her husband Dennis. They have two sons, Matthew and Adam.
