Pirituba is a bairro (neighborhood) in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It is located in the northwest side of the city, and is inhabited by low and lower-middle class Brazilians. Pirituba's population runs around 500,000 people, and the average monthly income per capita is US$600.^{[citation needed]} A person that lives in Pirituba is often called piritubano.

Although surrounded by natural beauties such as the Pico do Jaraguá and the Tietê river, due to the violence and low quality of life, most piritubanos wish they lived in Lapa, a neighborhood on the other side of the river.^{[citation needed]}

Some areas of Pirituba are highly dangerous, where drug lords and maloqueiros (street thugs) take the law into their own hands.

Pirituba has a strong tradition in sports. One of the first rugby teams of Brazil is from Pirituba, as well as one of the biggest baseball tournament in Brazil^{[citation needed]}.

Many piritubanos express their love of Pirituba with the phrase "Pirituba é o terrô" (which could be translated as "Pirituba rules!").

Some of the main attractions in Pirituba are the Pirituba Bus Terminal, the Raimundo Pereira de Magalhães Avenue, and the Pico do Jaraguá.
