August 2009

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to List of dragonflies (Aeshnidae). Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. William Avery (talk) 16:06, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of damselflies of the world (Synlestidae)

The article List of damselflies of the world (Synlestidae) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-useful list - could be adequately covered at List of damselflies of the world. With only three entries, splitting it off into a separate list is not helpful.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Linking months

Hi D& D - I've noticed that in articles you've created recently, you've linked months of the year. Please don't do this - see WP:OVERLINK#What generally should not be linked. Links to familiar concepts like calendar months serve no purpose (no one will ever click on them) and distract the reader's attention from the genuinely valuable links that provide a deeper understanding of the subject.
