Good Day (Korean: 굿데이) is a ten-member South Korean girl group formed by C9 Entertainment. They debuted on 30th August, 2017, with their 1st mini album "All Day Good Day"[1].

History

Pre-debut

In 2012, Haeun was part of a 3 member girl group Littles, under Nega Network but never debuted. The group's only release is an OST for drama The Great Seer[2].

In 2013, Heejin took part in Superstar K5 and finished in 3rd place[3]. Bomin appeared in movie No Breathing, as the younger version of Yuri's role.

In 2015, Heejin released her debut single titled "To Reach You", which features rapper Olltii[4]. She has also sang OSTs for dramas Late Night Restaurant[5] and Into the Flames[6].

Jiwon is currently a model under teenage fashion online shopping portal Sonyunara since pre-debut.

2017: Launching, Debut with All Day Good Day, KBS The Unit and Nayoon's injury

In July 2017, C9 Entertainment announced the launching of their first girl group, C9 Girls.[7] On 7th July, members Genie and Nayoon were revealed, alongside the group name Good Day.[8] On 10th July, members Bomin, Jiwon and Lucky were revealed.[9] On 11th July, members Cherry, Chaesol and Viva were revealed.[10] On 12th July, members Heejin and Haeun were revealed.[11] On 15th and 16th July, the group revealed the members' clean version teaser photos and B-cut teaser photos respectively. From 20th July to 10th August, on Thursdays, 4 episodes of their reality show, GOOD DAY 2 U, has been shown on C9 Entertainment's V App channel.

On 30th August, they debuted with their first mini album "All Day Good Day", with the music video for their debut title track "Rolly" featuring the appearance of C9 Entertainment trainee and current Wanna One member Bae Jin-young.[12] The other 3 tracks from the mini album are songs from the group's 3 units: Good Morning, Good Night and Midnight. On 3rd September, they have held their debut mini concert "All Day Good Day" at the Yes24 Live Hall.[13]

Six members (Heejin, Genie, Chaesol, Jiwon, Viva, Lucky) were confirmed to join the reality television series The Unit.[14] All, except Lucky, passed the Boot Evaluations in Episode 1.[15] However, Lucky was brought back into the competition in Episode 4.[16] Genie and Chaesol were eliminated from the program in its first elimination round.

On 1st November, it was announced that Nayoon will take a break from the group's activities due to a tear in her ligament during practice.[17]
