Good detective work re his birth year. Did you order the birth certificate from BMD / Ancestry? I've amended it back to 1942, but we need a citation. DilletantiAnonymous (talk) 11:45, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Silence (French band)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Silence (French band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 05:24, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Roland Pertwee edits
Hello! Regarding Pertwee's birthplace, a birthplace should be listed as it was named on the date of birth. You may add a line saying "(now known as Hove)" or "(now part of Hove)" to list the place's current name. For instance, if someone was born in Czechoslovakia we would still list their birthplace as Czechoslovakia even though the country no longer exists. The same would apply to a town that has changed hands; if a town was part of Germany on the date of birth, it would still be listed as part of Germany even if the town is currently part of France. Please correct your edit accordingly. Cheers! History Lunatic (talk) 22:10, 15 September 2018 (UTC)History Lunatic
- It's really nice to see someone take the time to do proper research! From the details you gave, I agree the entry should read "Hove." To reduce confusion you might add something like "(West Brighton estates)" to prevent a lot of back and forth edits when others find it listed that way. Or copy this discussion to the Talk page of the article. Cheers! ~History Lunatic — Preceding unsigned comment added by History Lunatic (talk • contribs) 17:40, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
The article Paul Marx (screenwriter) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails ANYBIO. Lacks requisite significant coverage in independent, reliable sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SITH (talk) 18:35, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
