This is the list of Miss Intercontinental winners from different countries and territories. The current Miss Intercontinental 2023 is Chatnalin Chotjirawarachat of Thailand, who was crowned on December 15, 2023, at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.[1][2]

History

Miss Intercontinental was founded in 1971 in Panama.[3] In 1973 the pageant was named Miss Teenage Intercontinental.[4][5] The parade was organized by Rene Lacle. The contest has its headquarters shared in Germany and Panama. Then in 1979 its name was changed to Miss Teen Intercontinental until 1982, when it was changed back to Miss Intercontinental.

From 1986 to 1991, the Silverbird Group held the pageant franchise, and organized it in Nigeria. From 1991, the franchise was passed to a German company, who moved the competition to Germany, and organized it there until 2003.[6][7]

The current is The Miss Intercontinental Organization SA, which makes up the Miss Intercontinental Organization (MIO).

Since 2011, this pageant has selected continental regions (specifically by dividing between South America and North America, these being the American continent together) as its name indicates, with only one from each continent reaching the top 5. Miss Intercontinental is considered among the seven most important beauty pageants in the world. As with Miss Universe, Miss Intercontinental is also one of the beauty pageants with the largest number of host countries, including the Bahamas, Belarus, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Nigeria, Colombia, Venezuela, Seychelles and China.[8]

Miss Intercontinental (MIO) is an annual international beauty pageant established in 1971. It was first held in Oranjestad, Aruba as Miss Teenage Intercontinental (1973–1979), and in Lagos, Nigeria as Miss Teen Intercontinental (1979–1982).[9]

Carmen Lynda Díaz from Puerto Rico won the first edition held in Lagos, by the Nigerian owners of the pageant, Silverbird Productions, which held the franchise from 1986 to 1991. Elena Ivanova from Russia won the second edition held in Bonn, by the new German owners of the pageant, which held the competition in Europe from 1991 to 2003. Despite not being included in the official archive of the pageant by the current owners, Puerto Rico won the first edition of 1991 in Nigeria, achieving its second Miss Intercontinental crown.
