Quake Mission Pack #1: Scourge of Armagon is the first official mission pack for id Software's first person shooter, Quake. Developed by Hipnotic Interactive, later renamed Ritual Entertainment, Scourge featured 15 new single player missions, a new multiplayer arena, as well as three new enemies, weapons and power-ups, and a more conventional soundtrack by Jehun Hwang combining electronica, orchestral, and heavy metal styles. New gameplay features not originally found in Quake include rotating structures (e.g. fans, revolving doors) and breakable walls.

New enemies

New monsters

Centroid
A man-sized cybernetic scorpion with nailguns for claws and melee sting attack. Also known as the Scourge.
Gremlin
Small green goblin-like creature with fairly advanced AI (for the Quake series). Can steal certain weapons from the player and use them against him. Also able to feed on the corpses of dead monsters which allows them to bolster their numbers. Has a claw rake melee attack.
Spike Mine
Floating ball of what appears to be flesh, approximately a metre across. Covered in numerous spikes. Slowly drifts towards the player (often from behind or from dark areas) and detonates with a powerful explosion when close enough.

New boss

Armagon
According to the storyline for Scourge of Armagon this creature is general of Quake's forces, planning to invade Earth via a portal known as the 'rift'. Physically Armagon resembles a giant gremlin with cybernetic legs and a combined rocket launcher/laser cannon for arms. This gives the creature an appearance not unlike the Cyberdemon from Doom and the Strogg in Quake II.

New weapons

The Mjolnir
A large hammer which emits lightning on impact with a solid surface (provided the players has enough cells), or alternatively a simple melee weapon. Evidently inspired by the hammer of Thor from Norse mythology.
The laser cannon
A rapid fire energy weapon firing red energy bolts.
The proximity mine launcher
Fires grenades that attach to walls or other solid surfaces (though not monsters). They will not detonate until enemies or a player moves too close to them. As such they allow some degree of tactical play.
