Offline TV is an online social entertainment group of content creators based in Los Angeles, California.[4] They produce a wide range of content, from prank videos to vlogs to the housemates playing games together.[5][6][7] The group maintains a large following on their social media platforms.[8][9][10]

Creation

Offline TV was founded in 2017 by William "Scarra" Li and his manager at the time, Chris Chan. After previously attempting and failing at creating a successful content house, Scarra went on to found Offline TV. Its first four members were Scarra, Chris Chan, Based Yoona, and Pokimane.[11]

I think I just wanted to live with friends. That was the origin of it. I wanted to live with people and make cool stuff with other people. It was myself and my manager Chris who started this idea.

Background

Scarra

William Jimmy Li (born November 25, 1989), better known by his alias Scarra, is an American Twitch streamer and former pro League of Legends player[19][20].[21] He is most well known for being the mid laner for Team Dignitas.[20][22] Scarra is also the co-founder of Offline TV, along with his friend Chris Chan.

Pokimane

Imane Anys[23] (born May 14, 1996), better known by her alias Pokimane, is a Moroccan Canadian Twitch streamer,[24] YouTube personality, and gamer. Anys is best known for her live streams on the Twitch platform, where she showcases her gaming experiences—most notably with League of Legends[25][26] and Fortnite.[27][28][29] In addition to streaming on the Twitch platform, Anys also has three active YouTube channels: Pokimane, Poki ASMR and Pokimane Too.[30][31] In an interview with The Rift Herald regarding Offline TV, Anys said, "…it's not fun being a streamer and living alone, so we decided to come together in a way so we not only keep each other company but we can also collab and actually do good work and content for everyone else."[4] Anys was one of the first four members of Offline TV.[1]

LilyPichu

Lily Ki (born November 20, 1991), also known as LilyPichu, is an American Twitch streamer,[14] musician,[32][33] and YouTube personality. Lily gained popularity in 2011 when she released her song "I'll Quit LoL," amassing over 7 million views on YouTube.[34] Her YouTube channel consists of animations, vlogs, songs, art, and piano covers while her Twitch stream consists of League of Legends,[35][14] IRL content,[14] art, and music. She also sporadically uploads on her second channel, LilyRaichu.[36]

In September 2018, Riot Games launched a new series of ads on YouTube for League of Legends including one featuring Lily and former Offline TV member sleightlymusical.[37] It was titled "LilyPichu & sleightlymusical: Duo"[38]

Around the 21st of February 2020, she confirmed that she is dating fellow Offline TV member Michael Reeves by telling her stream viewers Michael was her Valentine's Day call,[39] also asking him out in the process. This was later confirmed further by her in several of her other streams.[40][41]

Fedmyster

Federico Michael Gaytan (born August 7, 1995), better known by his alias Fedmyster, is an American Twitch streamer and YouTube personality, who is known for his IRL streams.[42] Gaytan started his streaming career in early January 2018, before this however he was a full-time video editor for content creator Christian "IWDominate" Rivera, a former pro player for Team Liquid. Gaytan was invited to join the group as an editor in June 2017. On July 8, 2017, Gaytan published his first YouTube video with Offline TV, where he was formally introduced as the group's editor.[43] After this, Gaytan went on to make many videos with Offline TV, garnering millions of views for the channel. Gaytan grew popular among the Offline TV fanbase and was officially named as part of talent in January 2018.

In 2018, Gaytan's Twitch emote called "Fed7" has been used a reported 431 million times in three months, making it the most popular emote on the site at that time.[42]

Disguised Toast

Jeremy Wang (born November 25, 1991), better known by his alias Disguised Toast, is a Canadian Twitch streamer who rose to fame playing Hearthstone.[44][45][46][47] He got his alias from a Hearthstone card named SI:7 Agent, who's saying when played is "This guy's toast," which the community joked that it sounded like "disguised toast" instead. Wang began his activity in the Hearthstone community by making infographics and YouTube videos of unusual card interactions that he shared on Reddit.[48] Wang covered his face with a toast-shaped cardboard mask with sunglasses when he began streaming until he revealed his face by mistake in October 2016.[49] In October 2017, Wang joined Offline TV.[50][51]

In November 2019, Wang announced his departure from Twitch and had moved to streaming on Facebook Gaming.[52][53]

Michael Reeves

Michael Reeves (born November 20, 1997) is an American YouTube personality known for his comedy engineering videos and use of the words "nightmare" and "crackhead." Michael previously worked as a software developer in Hawaii.[54] His first video, "The Robot That Shines a Laser in Your Eye" posted in April 2017, went viral.[55] In September 2019, Reeves built a camera that tases other peoples legs using a tens unit and electrodes placed on the legs whenever a picture is taken, making them fall over, and making Reeves the tallest person in the picture. In October 2019, Reeves created a twitter bot that allowed the public to buy products to decorate his room. The bot purchased the most liked Amazon links in his replies for 24 hours.[56] In December 2019, Reeves modified laser tag vests to contain tasers, dubbing it "Tazer Tag." He used these vests to play a game of capture the flag with the other members of Offline TV.[57][58]

After much speculation, he was officially announced as a member of Offline TV in December 2019.[59][17][60]

Around the 21st of February 2020, fellow Offline TV member LilyPichu confirmed that her and Reeves were dating by telling her stream viewers he was her Valentine's Day call,[39] also asking him out in the process. Since then, she has confirmed this several times in her other streams.[40][41]

EdisonParkLive

Edison Park (born November 22, 1988), also known as edisonparklive, is an American Twitch streamer and former manager of Offline TV. He took over the managerial position in July 2018 after the departure of Chris Chan.[62] Prior to joining Offline TV, Park previously worked at Microsoft. Park formerly held the world record for the most hours streamed on Twitch in a 30-day period. The attempt lasted from March 8, 2019 to April 7, 2019. In this time period, Park streamed an average of 17 hours a day, which would accumulate up to a total of 541 hours. The previous record was set by fellow Twitch streamer Zizaran, who streamed 506.5 hours in a 30-day period.[63]

Park is currently engaged to Twitch streamer Leslie Fu, better known by her alias fuslie. Park proposed to Fu on stream at the conclusion of his world record attempt.[63]

On April 23, 2019, Park announced via Twitter that he would be stepping down from the managerial position to focus on his streaming career.[64]

SleightlyMusical

Albert Chang (born November 15, 1990), also known as sleightlymusical, is a Twitch streamer, YouTube personality, musician,[32] and magician[65] who is known for his instrumental covers, musical medleys and magic tricks.[33][32] Albert also streams games where he plays League of Legends[37] and does IRL streams with live music and magic tricks.[33] During his time with Offline TV, he worked both in production, and as an active personality.[12]

On November 3, 2017, Chang performed live at 2017 League of Legends World Championship opening ceremony of the finals.[66]

Chang's departure was met with much controversy when in November 2019, it was revealed that he had been unfaithful to his partner and fellow Offline TV member, LilyPichu, with another streamer, Sarah Lee, better known by her alias avacadopeeled. Following the incident, Chang's name was quietly removed from Offline TV's social media outlets.[67] Chang later came out with a statement on his Twitter, saying that he would be "taking an indefinite hiatus from content creation to reflect and spend some time alone," along with an apology to Lily and the Offline TV community.[68]

TheeMarkZ

Mark Zimmerman (born June 29, 1991), better known by his alias MarkZ,[69] is an American League of Legends sports commentator,[70] best known as an analyst for the North American League of Legends Championship Series,[69][71] and former head analyst and assistant coach for Team Liquid. He was announced as a member of Offline TV in July 2017, where he worked in production. In early 2018, Zimmerman temporarily left the group, citing differences with management. He later returned in July 2018, working in both production and management until late 2019.[12]
