Deva Victrix
[edit]Hi, I noticed that this image of Roman Britain in 150 shows the IInd legion garrisoned at Deva Victrix. I'm afraid this needs correcting, as the XXth legion became the garrison of Deva Victrix in 88. I think the IInd were based in Isca Silurum, in south Wales at the time. I don't know if you're the right person to contact about changing the map, but since you seem to be significantly involved, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Cheers, Nev1 (talk) 12:28, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- There'll be no need to go to the message boards as I am certain of the facts. Legio XX Valeria Victrix were garrisoned at Deva from 88 onwards (I wrote the Deva Victrix article, and that particular fact is referenced). Legio II Augusta was certainly garrisoned at Isca Silurum, as demonstrated by the alternative name of the settlement: Isca Augusta. The wikipedia article states that the legion was garrisoned there from 75 onwards, however this is unreferenced. This source shows that Legio II Aususta was stationed at Isca Silurum from at least 99 to 260, which is more than sufficient for the map. Thanks for your help, Nev1 (talk) 17:30, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Looks good, cheers for sorting it out. Nev1 (talk) 14:57, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of EucA
[edit]The article EucA has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (organizations) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disambiguation link notification for April 1
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited EucA, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University College. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Leo J. Trese moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Leo J. Trese, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
