I am a Srivaishnava Iyengar Brahmin from Karnataka. I am a civil engineer with over 62 years of professional experience in water resources engineering – 36 years with Government of India(including 3 years as lecturer in a private college) as a technocrat, and after retirement in June 1997, 22 years as a freelance consultant, mostly in the present Hydropower development boom under the private sector BOOT initiative in the Himalayan states of India and Nepal. My service life was eventful with concerted efforts to pursue a) completion of the most controversial Sardar Sarovar Project on the Narmada River, including defense of PILs in the Supreme Court, b) the landmark water treaties on the Mahakali River with Nepal and the historic Ganges Water Sharing Treaty at Farakka with Bangladesh and c) the UN Law on Non-Navigational uses of International Water Courses. My co-authored books and articles can be read on Google search.

I believe in the saying “To err is human but to forgive is divine”.

Words, from our sage Ramanuja

[edit]

“Om Namo Narayanaya!”

“Sharanagathi! Surrender Unto the Lord.”

"Shed your ego. Love the devotees of God. Serve the cause of mankind who is God's children. Nobody is infallible; do not humiliate any one. What is of supreme importance is purity of mind and deed."

Prayers to our sage Ramanuja

[edit]

Adiyen Dasan, takes refuge at the feet of our guru Bhagavaan Ramanuja, that ocean of mercy who, infatuated with the gold-like, lotus feet of the Lord, considered all else as mere blades of grass.

The 1500 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
Lets just guess that the average DYK gets read by 100 people - that means you have a readership of 150,000 people. I think its more like 1000 per DYK appearance so that means that your words have been read by over 1 million people and thats just on the first day of publication! There must be multi-millions of people who know a little more about Asian settlements, buildings, people and artefacts then they would have done without the efforts of Nvvchar. I think the President of India should give you a prize, but until then do have this DYK medal. Great respect for your efforts. Thanks from the Wiki and its many readers. For your contributions to bring Bangui to Good Article status. Thanks, and keep up the good work! I hope you will see the value in your work on such topics. A Yak greets Mr. Char
This yak, featured picture of today in the commons informed me that he remembers you fiddling with his local river in Nepal and is real cross about it, he demands an apology as you flooded a house he and his fellow yakites made from their dung, and which hosted celebrations of their annual Yak racing festival. Clear the air with the yak asap, wouldn't want it to get nasty and vandalise a dam now... ♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 16:02, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
