Abstract 


Blood lipids, peroxidation of lipids, inflammation mediators were examined in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It was found that corticosteroids cause changes in blood lipids of the atherogenic type that in association with increased levels of malonic dialdehyde, serotonin, histamine and reduced blood heparin level is the main pathogenetic mechanism of atherogenesis in rheumatoid arthritis.
