the profile of "Mahatma Gandhi" has been replaced by "Mohandas Gandhi". and therefore the description and photo everything has gone. i know the real name of "Mahatma Gandhi" is "Mohandas Karamchnad Gandhi", but he is known worldwide by the name Mahatma Gandhi. i know not who has done this and when so i could not undone it. the new profile "Mohandas Gandhi" shows no history of edits either.

:( I would hope that that was an honest mistake, not an act of vandalism, but that's definitely wrong. Mahatma Gandhi is even in the help files as an example of authors who should be listed under their commonly used names!

Have you used the "contact us" link to send an email to GR support directly? They may be able to get a backed-up copy of the previous author profile. (Unfortunately, it looks like when authors are merged the change logs don't merge -- I wonder if it's possible it make that happen?)

thanks rivka. i shall recreate the profile. that's not a problem. it would be nice if Cait's suggestion of merging change logs when authors are merged is considered. Or may be there's a way to introduce a "watchlist" like Wikipedia, where one can watch over some pages.

Otis already said in Feedback that they would change the logs to do that. Not sure how quickly it can be implemented, but hopefully soon!
