The Kalos Power Plant (Japanese: カロス発電所 Kalos Power Plant) is a facility located on Route 13 in Kalos, used to provide electricity for the entire region.
The Power Plant apparently produces a special magnetic field that allows Magneton and Nosepass to evolve when leveled up in Route 13. This effect does not apply inside the Power Plant itself, however.
During the events of Pokémon X and Y, Aliana of Team Flare takes over the station to harness its energy to power up the ultimate weapon. The Power Plant Pass is required to enter the facility.
Pokémon the Series
The Kalos Power Plant is the main power source for Lumiose City. It is connected to several space satellites that receive solar radiation energy from the sun, which are then converted to electricity by the Power Plant's central superconducting ring. Clemont revealed that he was involved in the programming for the Power Plant.
In The Future Is Now, Thanks to Determination!, Ash and his friends passed by the Power Plant, when suddenly Pikachu, Dedenne, and Luxio started acting strangely and left their Trainers. It turned out that many other Electric Pokémon were being attracted to the Power Plant, so Ash and company decided to sneak in through an air vent to investigate. They found a group of imprisoned workers called Jolt, Jules, and A.C., who told them that Team Rocket had taken over the Power Plant and started using its parabolic antenna to lure in multiple Electric Pokémon for them to catch. By doing so, they had also caused a blackout in Lumiose City.
Ash and his friends rushed to confront Team Rocket, who sent Pikachu and Luxio to attack Ash and Clemont. Using his Aipom Arm, Clemont was able to conduct Luxio's electricity to the Power Plant systems and overload it, causing it to shut down and free all the controlled Pokémon. Before Team Rocket was able to reactivate the system, Luxio suddenly evolved into Luxray and used his newly learned Electric Terrain to destroy the antenna Team Rocket had used to control the Electric Pokémon inside the Plant. Thanks to the power boost from Electric Terrain, all of the Electric Pokémon then proceeded to use their attacks to send Team Rocket blasting off.
Once everything had been resolved, it was revealed that while the Plant had been damaged by Team Rocket, its backup generator was still working and providing power. Clemont also surprised the rest of the group by telling them that he wanted to go to Lumiose City in advance and prepare for his upcoming Gym battle with Ash. The group accepted his decision, promising to meet him again at the Lumiose Gym.
