Many viewers believe the bizarre protrusion is the secret behind Chen’s advanced age and are now describing it as the “longevity horn.”

The growth has developed over several years, yet Chen remains in good health, with a hearty appetite and positive outlook.

Doctors identified the growth as a cutaneous horn, often associated with prolonged sun exposure.

While generally benign, experts advise monitoring such growths due to a slight risk of malignancy.

Chen isn’t the only senior citizen to hit headlines for an eye-catching cutaneous horn growing out of her head.

Back in 2019, 74-year-old Indian man Shyam Lal Yadav, had a four-inch horn removed from the top of his skull by surgeons.

After surgery, patients with a “devil’s horn” may also be treated with radiation or chemotherapy, and skin will be grafted to cover the wound that was once the horn’s base.

However, it’s believed that Chen has no plans to remove her horn, and many Chinese social media users are also urging her not to.

“My grandma had a growth on her head,” one wrote. “She went to the hospital to have it removed, but died two days after she came back.”

According to doctors, cutaneous horns are quite rare but can appear on the face, ears, hands, toes and — in extremely unusual and unfortunate cases — the penis.
